Microsoft .NET Introduction to VB .NET For New Developers

 Course Summary:

Visual Basic .NET is a significant upgrade to Visual Basic 6.0 and runs on top of the Microsoft .NET Framework.  The goal of this intensive course is to acquaint students with the knowledge and skills needed to develop Microsoft .NET based applications using Visual Basic .NET and Visual Studio .NET.

Windows applications, web applications (ASP .NET), class libraries, and web services are all project types that will be used in the course.


 Intended Audience:

This course is intended for those who have no prior programming experience or no prior object-oriented programming experience and will use Visual Basic .NET with Visual Studio .NET to develop Windows and web based applications for the Microsoft .NET Platform.

During this intensive course, students will be exposed to a wide range of topics that will lead to their proficiency with not only the Visual Basic .NET programming language, but also the Visual Studio .NET development environment known as the “Integrated Design Environment” or “IDE” and the .NET Framework itself.


 Prerequisites:

To ensure an effective learning environment, it is imperative that students meet minimum course prerequisites.
