Introduction to Active Server Pages (2 day course)

 Course Summary:

This course is designed to introduce students to Microsoft’s very popular Active Server Pages technology.

Students will learn the Visual Basic Scripting (VBScript) language and how to use it to create ASP web pages that are more dynamic, efficient and responsive to users.  Working with HTML form data is a key topic of this class, as students will learn how to process information entered in an HTML form.  Managing ‘state’ is also a key topic in which the use of ‘cookies’ is covered.

In addition, students will become familiar with the fundamentals of web server management/administration with regard to the operation of Active Server Pages


 Intended Audience:

This class is intended for web programmers & those wishing to move into web programming who wish to create dynamic, data-driven web pages by leveraging the power of Active Server Pages technology.


 Prerequisites:

To ensure an effective learning environment, it is imperative that students meet minimum course prerequisites.

This course requires:

  • Complete familiarity with at least 90% of the topics covered in the outline for Advanced HTML Authoring.
