Active Server Pages Technical Course Outline (4 Day Course)

 Course Summary:

Students will learn the Visual Basic Scripting (VBScript) language and how to use it to create ASP web pages that are more dynamic, efficient and responsive to users. In addition, students will become familiar with ASP database integration using ActiveX Data Objects (ADO), using COM based objects to extend functionality and many other advanced uses of ASP.


 Intended Audience:

This class is intended for web programmers who wish to create dynamic, data-driven web pages by leveraging the power of Active Server Pages technology.


 Pre-requisites:

To ensure an effective learning environment, it is imperative that students meet minimum course prerequisites.

This course requires:

  • Complete familiarity with at least 90% of the topics covered in the outline for: Advanced HTML Authoring.
    *Please refer to that course outline to be sure that you meet this requirement.
  • Basic experience working with databases.
  • While not required, experience with JavaScript or Visual Basic will be helpful.
